What is a birth chart?
A birth chart, also called a natal chart, maps the positions of the Sun, Moon and planets for your birth date and place. Novamris uses the tropical zodiac. The positions are calculated; their personal meaning comes from traditional astrology.
Begin with a placement rather than trying to read the whole wheel at once. The Sun is traditionally associated with identity and self-expression; the Moon with emotional rhythms and what feels familiar. A sign adds a symbolic theme. Houses, when a precise time is available, connect placements with areas of life.
What changes when your birth time is uncertain?
- Exact time: explore calculated planetary positions, your rising sign and houses, where the calculation supports them.
- Approximate time or a range: see sampled planetary ranges and the possible signs where a placement changes. The chart does not pick one moment and present it as certain.
- Unknown time: explore what remains stable across the birth day. The Moon or another placement may cross a sign boundary. Rising sign and houses stay open rather than being invented.
Sun in Taurus
A single sign can be shown when it stays the same throughout the sampled window.
Moon in Gemini or Cancer
Two possibilities remain visible when the sampled window crosses a sign boundary.
Rising sign: not available
An unknown birth time does not become an assumed noon chart.
Ranges are sampled estimates. If you later find a more precise birth time, you can update your details and calculate again. See how calculations and uncertainty work.
From a placement to a useful question
Open a planet’s explanation in your chart, or ask Luna, “What does this placement traditionally mean?” Luna is an optional AI assistant; chart calculation does not require AI-processing permission. Free includes 10 Luna messages each month.
You can also explore your personal astrology calendar to put dates in context, or learn what Luna can help with before starting a conversation.
Your details stay yours
